Choose between the mountainous scenery of the Lake District, or the sandy beaches of the west Cumbrian coastline. Just a short 5-mile car journey away is Bassenthwaite Lake, a picturesque lake with a stunning backdrop of the iconic Skiddaw, one of the highest mountains in England, offering fantastic walking and cycle routes as well as an osprey viewpoint. Bassenthwaite is also home to the Lake District Wildlife Park offering a fun day out, and The Lakes Distillery, with good food and tasting tours, are both 6 miles away. The popular town of Keswick is 14 miles away and can be reached by car in about 20 minutes. Walking and cycling enthusiasts will love Whinlatter Forest Park, or continue down the valley to Buttermere for stunning panoramic scenery. Beach 9½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
