In a 10-minute drive you’ll reach the Lake District National Park, and in 20 minutes, Loweswater, where you have great walks, cycle routes, wildlife, mountains, and lakes. It’s a beautiful driving route passing Crummock and Buttermere. Take the route via the Honister Pass to Derwentwater and the busy tourist magnet of Keswick. To the east you have Bassenthwaite, a 20-minute drive, home to The Lakes Distillery, Armathwaite Hall offering spa packages, alpaca trekking and The Lake District Wildlife Park, fun for all ages.
To the south you’ll find Ennerdale Water, just 12 miles away. Ennerdale is regarded as one of the most unspoilt areas of the Lake District National Park and its teaming with wildlife including indigenous red squirrels, ospreys and buzzards.
