Langwathby has its own train station, where you can journey along the Carlisle to Settle route, stopping off at historic Carlisle, enjoying some retail therapy, or just stay aboard for the beautiful views! For busy days of exploration, be sure to visit Lacy’s Caves, a series of five chambers carved out of the sandstone cliff, set along a beautiful walking route with views of the river and wonderful garden to admire. Just a short walk you can find Long Meg and her daughters, one of the finest stone circles in the north of England. If you are looking for activities to occupy the family, Lazonby outdoor swimming pool can be reached in 5 minutes by car and is open from April- September.
