Renovated in 2019, Taylor’s Cottage, dating back to the 1700s, has a mixture of original features and modern amenities. The terraced property is bursting with character, from the original beams to the large wood burner in the living room, you will be able see the appeal of this attractive cottage as soon as you walk in. With two double bedrooms and a twin room upstairs, this property is ideal for multiple couples or families looking for a quality cottage in a great location. The bathroom features a spa bath, perfect for a long soak after a day on the fells. It also has a separate shower cubicle for flexibility. Downstairs is the homely living room with plenty of seating as well as a large kitchen/dining room with good quality fixtures and fittings. The range cooker is perfect for preparing a family feast, while the dining table is the perfect spot for a hearty meal, or perhaps a board game and a bottle of wine. The lawned garden with a patio, complete with patio furniture, benefits from sunshine all day as it’s slightly detached from the main house.
Within the village there are two excellent pubs serving food and you can reach them on foot in less than a minute. You are also just 2 miles from Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, offering a fun day out with a narrow gauge train ride, mining tour and activities including digging and panning for gold. For golfers, Keswick Golf Club is just 1 mile away, or head towards Keswick and you will reach Castlerigg Stone Circle, an interesting short walk suitable for all levels of experience. The popular market town of Keswick has an abundance of bars, shopping experiences, restaurants and tourist attractions, including the Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world. The Theatre by the Lake, offering award winning arts and drama, and Puzzling Place, with a selection of mind boggling optical illusions, are just 5 miles away. About the local area

Threlkeld and St. Johns in the Vale are just to the east of Keswick in the Northern Lakes. The steep sided Blencathra looms over Threlkeld village, a popular starting point for walking the mountain; three ridges lead to the summit from the village. St. Johns in the Vale, as the name suggests is set in a peaceful valley surrounded by some of England's highest mountains.

Threlkeld's history reaches back more than 800 years; the Romans were here from the 3rd to the 8th century, followed later by the Norse. In the village the church dates back to 1578 and there are two pubs that first opened their doors in 1688.

St. Johns in the Vale is in one of the most stunning valleys in the Northern Lake District. Though only a few miles outside Keswick, the area is tranquil and unspoilt with great views of Blencathra and the Helvellyn range.

There are many places of interest within easy reach; beautiful Ullswater to the east, the lively market town of Keswick and Derwentwater to the West and Thirlmere to the south, with forest walks and fishing.
