The West Lakes and coastal area in Cumbria is full of brilliant cycle routes to keep you occupied during your holiday. Cycling around this wonderful area, allows you to truly experience the amazing scenery.
The West Cumbria cycle Network allows you to venture between Cockermouth, Whitehaven, Cleator Moor branching further to Egremont and Maryport. The routes altogether cover 72 miles of cycling routes, plenty of distance to cover over your holiday!
One of the most popular routes is the cycle path between Whitehaven and Ennerdale, along the old railway. On your way you can see visit the sculptural trail allowing you to appreciate the local artists work.
Whitehaven is also the starting point of the very popular coast to coast route which runs 140 miles to the North East Coast, the Whitehaven to Ennerdale path is the first stage of this challenging cycle.
