Buttermere is located in the Buttermere Valley and sits alongside Crummock Water and Loweswater. The picturesque village of Buttermere sits on the lake shore where you can enjoy a peaceful family picnic or a spot of fishing.
The Lake offers mainly bank fishing for wild brown trout with fly, spinning and worm all good methods. The best time to fish here is early June when the waters benefit from overcasts conditions and a slight breeze.
And after a days fishing why not visit the aptly named `Fish Hotel' for dinner!
Please note fishing on the lake is controlled by the National Trust.
