Blackwell is an award winning Museum taking you back in time to learn all about the Lake District's past. This area is special. Much of it was isolated until the railway and motorcar arrived and before this time the area had its own unique customs and traditions. Explore the period rooms and workshops showing how rural people lived and worked. Discover a Lake District kitchen, complete with traditional recipes and utensils, a bedroom full of furniture and furnishings, a farmhouse parlour with a working phonograph and rare 18th century oak panelling.
There is also a coffee shop on site offering a selection of light bites and homemade cakes. Outside you will find picnic benches and small playground.
