On the other side of the Lingmoor Fells from the Great Langdale Valley, you can find the stunning Little Langdale valley. A cluster of homes in the valley are built from local stone and are known as the quiet hamlet of Little Langdale. The history of this valley is very different to the quiet valley found here today; over 200 years ago it was a main transport link between many roads all over Cumbria, drawing many people with their pack horses to the area. The Three Shires Inn can also be found in this area, dating back to 1872 with its traditional slate building.
