This ancient house surrounded by medieval forest is a secret gem to visit during the summer, with this private residence containing collections of furniture, art and tapestry, dating from as far back as the 1300s when the Pele Tower was built. The house shows its own timeline with different parts of the building built over the many years, totalling six periods through time. Many amazing gardens can be found surrounding the house dating back from the 17th Century.

The house and gardens are open throughout the week for visitors, with walks available to do in many of the gardens, grounds and surrounding woodland. After you have finished your visit, you can enjoy some of the homemade lunches with a tea or coffee in The Cloisters Tea Room situated in the grounds.

Events are held throughout the summer, such as the popular open air Shakespeare performances, Gamekeepers Walks and Horse Shows.
