Set in the delightful village of Newby and next to the owners’ home, Higher Barn is a well-presented barn conversion situated in the unspoilt Eden Valley. As you may have guessed from the name, Higher Barn is set over the top floor. There are three spacious bedrooms that offer picturesque views, and an open plan living, dining and kitchen space. The cosy living area has Freeview TV, a DVD player and a selection of board games, and the farmhouse-style kitchen area is well equipped.
This area is one of Cumbria’s best-kept secrets, with picture postcard villages and beautiful rolling countryside. It is ideal for walking and cycling, and fishing can be found on the River Eden. Nearby attractions include Brougham Castle, Acorn Bank Garden and Watermill, the Rheged Centre and Wetheriggs Pottery.
Higher Barn is easily accessible from the M6 and just a stone’s throw from the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and Scottish Borders. The market town of Appleby is nearby, famous for its horse fair, and the larger town of Penrith is approximately 20 minutes’ drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Higher Barn can be booked together with Garden Cottage (ref UK1000) to accommodate up to 6 guests.
