Once Sedbergh’s old railway station, the property has been converted into two luxurious semi-detached holiday homes – Old Station Cottage (ref UK2431) and Westby House (ref UK2430), both of which retain internal original features. The living room of Old Station Cottage was once the ladies waiting room.
This outstanding single-storey property still boasts the 60 foot long platform (now a patio), and sits in 3 acres of private gardens at the end of a 150-yard drive, and cannot be seen from the road. South west facing, the gardens have the sun all day, and are perfect for watching the bright stars in the evenings. Old Station Cottage is beautifully furnished and has its own entrance with 24 hour access via key safe.
The location is ideal for visiting both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks.
The station used to transport both passengers and livestock on the old Low Gill to Ingleton line. It was closed in 1965 after the rail nationalisation and it became the family home of the last station master until it was bought by its present owners.
