The Old Police House offers a three-storey spacious cottage. The top floor boasts a large double bedroom whilst on the first floor is another large double, twin room and modern family bathroom. There is a private courtyard colourfully designed where you can enjoy an evening drink or relaxing breakfast. The modern and characterful kitchen/diner provides a fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs.

The Cottage is situated in the small village of Cowan Bridge where you will find stunning walks straight from your doorstep. If you plan to venture out a little further this area has so much to offer with its location bordering Lancashire, Yorkshire, and Cumbria, as well as easy access to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, and Morecambe Bay coast. Just five minutes’ drive and you will find the beautiful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, a local hot spot for motorcyclists, walkers and cyclists gathering at the renowned Devil’s Bridge. Kirkby Lonsdale itself has a lot to offer and boasts an abundance of traditional pubs, fine dining restaurants, charming tea rooms and boutique shops, all on the doorstep of the cottage.

About the local area

Kirkby Lonsdale is in Cumbria's south east in between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales; an historic market town in an area of great natural beauty with riverside and country walks.

There are many riverside and country walks in the area, and historic buildings to see in the town itself, including the 11th century Norman parish church. While some market towns have become spoilt over the years, Kirkby Lonsdale and its surrounding area of outstanding landscape still retain the same beauty appreciated by Constable, Turner, and Ruskin.

Further north lays Kirkby Stephen at the head of the Eden Valley, a popular centre for walkers and situated on the Cumbria Cycle Way - a great route for all keen cyclists.

Half an hour's drive from Kirkby Stephen is the beautiful area of Silverdale - an Area of Outstanding Beauty, offering a truly inspiring escape from the pace and pressures of everyday life. Don't miss the headland of Jack Scout leading to Jenny Brown's Point. From here, look out across the bay to see Humphrey Head where, so legend has it, the last wolf in England was slain.
