The Creamery nestles in a desirable village location, easily accessed just minutes from the motorway, making it the perfect destination for relaxing weekend breaks or longer active holidays. Burton is surrounded by beautiful countryside and with easy walks straight from the door, this is an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts.
Catch the sunset and views of the Lakes from a stroll along the canal; head up to Farleton Knott or Burton Fell to see the rare limestone pavement scenery; or further afield for the high fells of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. With fishing, climbing, sailing, diving, canoeing, horse riding, golf, bird watching and water sports all within easy reach this is the perfect spot for those who love to have the choice of activities.
This lovely 200 year old property has been fully refurbished in 2020 by the current owners, offering warm and cosy accommodation, well equipped with all modern conveniences. The old walled garden areas facing south and west offer sheltered sunny spots for outdoor dining. There is ample off road parking leading to the side door which opens on to a useful utility room and well-equipped modern kitchen, through to the dining room. The delightful living room has a wood/coal burner to keep you toasty warm during long winter evenings. There are three bedrooms on the first floor; one kingsize, one double and a single, with a family bathroom offering a separate bath and shower cubicle.
Burton is a traditional Cumbrian village with a butchers, village store with newsagent and post office supplying all your essentials and regional treats; there’s also a great local pub selling real ales and homemade food; all within 5 minute’s walk. Kendal and Lancaster and the coast are all within a 20-minute drive, with Levens Hall and its famous Elizabethan topiary gardens and Sizergh Castle close by. Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay are favourites with bird watchers. The stunning scenery of the Lake District national park is in easy reach for day trips. The 555 bus to Keswick even stops almost at the door, if you fancy exploring the Lakes by bus!
For a different flavour, head East to the rolling scenery of the Yorkshire Dales, fells, waterfalls, caves and potholes, including Ingleton Falls and White Scar Caves. If you fancy city culture for a change, hop back on the M6, to head north or south; or Carnforth railway station is just 5 miles away, linking easily to Lancaster, Manchester and Carlisle for castles, museums, galleries, shopping and more.
