Hawthorn Cottage is a cosy terraced cottage, set over three floors, and is just perfect for a couple or small family. It offers easy access by foot into the popular town of Kendal. Affectionately known as Auld Grey Town, this historic market town sits at the ‘Gateway to The Lakes’, and Windermere and Bowness are found just a short drive away. With Morecambe Bay and the Kent Estuary also just a few miles away, visitors will find the town an excellent base from which to explore the wider area. More and more guests however, are enjoying the town; the phrase ’something for everyone’ might just have been coined for Kendal. Sitting on the River Kent and surrounded by hills, the town has an eclectic mix of history, culture and a huge variety of shops. The Brewery Arts Centre offers a year round programme of music, theatre and festivals. Bars, cafes and restaurants cater for all, from cream teas to international cuisine, or for the more traditional, a ‘reet good’ beer! Kendal is serviced by excellent rail and bus links to the Lakes and further afield. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 600 yards.
