Langdale Crag, a luxurious holiday apartment on the first floor of a rather grand Lakeland residence, is set in 2 acres of shared, informal gardens. Up above Dove Cottage, Langdale has one of the finest views of Grasmere Lake and its surrounding Fells - simply breathtaking! A short stroll takes you into the village for provisions, a spot of lunch or dinner, or maybe to try its famous gingerbread. Then perhaps a walk around the lake, or try one of the many walks from Langdale’s garden; the ’coffin’ trail leading to Rydal, Alcock Tarn, Loughrigg or through Deerbolt woods into Elterwater. On returning you may see a woodpecker, deer or red squirrels scurrying over the lawns as you sit on the terrace sipping a drink. Alternatively, enjoy the peace and tranquillity from the comfortable open plan living areas. Whilst inside the accommodation, every room has been presented with much care and attention to detail.

About the local area

Grasmere is a charming village in the heart of the Lake District National Park, situated in a valley surrounded by the lush green slopes of the Lakeland hills. Lovely old cottages and houses built of the local blue-green slate sit along side the art galleries and shops that line the twisty streets of the village.

Once home to the famous poet William Wordsworth visitors can see his two former homes - Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount and Gardens. At the centre of the village is St. Oswald's Church which contains the Wordsworth family graves.

A short distance to the west is the village of Chapel Stile at the entrance to the spectacular Langdale Valley with superb scenery all around. Langdale offers a variety of fell and low level walks making it a good base for walkers of all abilities.
