The Little Griffin is an attractive, detached barn conversion which stands in a pretty, walled, south-facing garden. Cosy and equipped to a good standard, the cottage has a quirky layout, with a kitchen, dining area, walk-in shower and bedroom on the ground floor, and the living room, twin bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. It is neatly tucked away off the road, 20 yards down a private path under an ancient arch.
Broughton-in-Furness is situated in the south western corner of the Lake District and is just six miles from Coniston Water. There is much to please the visitor, including a pretty, cobbled square, complete with a splendid horse chestnut tree, enclosed by shops, pubs and homes, many of them Georgian in origin. The village provides an ideal base for a walking or climbing holiday, with ample opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the Duddon Valley and the quieter Lake District fells. Close to the sea, this attractive town makes an inspiring choice from which to further explore a magical heartland of the western lakes. Take a trip to the lovely Langdales, Dunnerdale and Ulpha, which offer some challenging high level treks, along with many low level paths and trails over moorland. In just 8 miles, enjoy a pleasant drive west, which takes visitors past the Coniston Mountain Range to Coniston Water. Here, explore the lake shore, or from the village hire a boat. Finally, for a great day out, head north towards Ravenglass and Muncaster Castle. This property is perfectly placed for activities such as watersports, horse riding, fishing and cycling. Ulverston is just 10 miles, with Laurel and Hardy Museum. Village shops, pubs and restaurant within 100 yards.
