Heading out of Grange-over-Sands, Cartmel is only 2 miles down the road and is famous for its horse racing weekends (they are hosted four times a year) and also for its sticky toffee pudding. This quirky village is definitely worth a visit, and also offers two Michelin star restaurants for you to enjoy -be sure to book! Newby Bridge, home to the Lakes Aquarium, Windermere Lake Cruises and the Haverthwaite steam train, is just 7 miles away. Known as the ’gateway into the Lakes’, you can easily access many popular towns around Cumbria including Ulverston, Ambleside, Coniston, Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere. Beach 16 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
