Description

New to the market for 2021, The Nook offers you a prime location within walking distance of both Bowness and Windermere villages, Beatrix Potter Museum and the Lake. On the Eastern shores of Windermere, midway from the top and the bottom of the lake, it doesn’t get much better if you’re looking to explore this popular part of The Lake District National Park.

This excellent holiday cottage provides the perfect base to relax, spend time with loved ones and make amazing memories together. Sleeping up to four, you’ll find a spacious master bedroom with double bed and plenty of storage space for your belongings. Next door you have a twin-bedded room with a 3ft single and a 4ft double, it just gives you a bit of extra space and flexibility if you have teens for example. The contemporary bathroom features a bath with shower over. On the ground floor you have a spacious and cosy living room with open fire, perfect for relaxing in front of a movie at night. The dining room also has a wood burner and a high dining table with additional easy seating. The kitchen is well equipped and comes with all the mod cons including washer/dryer, dishwasher, and coffee machine. At the rear you’ll find a peaceful garden complete with patio furniture where you can relax and soak up the sunshine with a glass of wine after a busy day of adventure.

The property is just a 10-minute walk from the Lake at Bowness. This popular tourist magnet draws in lots of visitors, thanks to its wonderful array of bars, shops, delis, and restaurants. This is a popular spot to grab an ice cream and feed the ducks and geese at the lake shore. Here you can take a ride on the famous steamers to Lakeside in the south with The Aquarium of The Lakes and The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway or sail to Ambleside at the northern end of the Lake. You can also take a short drive to Ferry nab where you can take the car ferry over to Hawkshead on the other side. If you like the water, you can hire a self-drive boat with no experience necessary, it’s great fun for all ages. If you love the outdoors there’s loads of great walking routes, cycle routes and it offers a great starting point to walk many of The Lakeland Fells. There’s plenty to see and do in the area and The Nook gives you an excellent starting point. Pub 142 yards.

About the local area

Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Situated midway down Lake Windermere, a long promenade skirts the lake with views over a busy harbour where pleasure cruisers arrive and depart taking visitors up and down the lake.

The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across and down the lake. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside.

There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole `pitch and put' and sailing marinas. Bowness provides a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a wide range of shops, all within easy reach.
