Duckling Cottage enjoys a very central location, only a stone’s throw from the many attractions and amenities of bustling Bowness. There is plenty for the first or returning visitor to enjoy here in one of Cumbria’s tourist hotspots, one of the most famous attractions being the Windermere Lake Steamers which are within a gentle stroll of the cottage. Here you can take in the magnificent scenery of Windermere and her surrounding fell ranges and even hop across to Ambleside or down to Lakeside for a little more sightseeing.

Duckling Cottage offers traditional features of wood flooring, exposed beams and open fireplace to complete the cottage feel and compliment the contemporary styling throughout. Duckling Cottage boasts two beautiful, stylish bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms making it the perfect choice for two couples wishing to sample fine cuisine, good shopping and the excellent nightlife that Bowness has to offer. A welcome tray is provided as well as food to give the ducks at Bowness Bay!

Property has gas central heating and comprises:
Lounge: To the front of the house with warming open fireplace (fuel available locally), Freeview TV and DVD.
Kitchen/Dining area: With electric oven and gas hob, radio with i-Pod dock and microwave.
Utility area: With the washer, fridge freezer, microwave (which is also a convection oven) and dishwasher. This area also doubles as a useful boot room.
Access to enclosed courtyard with shed for bike storage and dryer.

First floor

Bedroom 1: With king size bed, flatscreen TV with DVD, hairdryer and en-suite with shower cubicle, wash basin, WC, heated vanity mirrors, shaver point and heated towel rail.

About the local area

Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Situated midway down Lake Windermere, a long promenade skirts the lake with views over a busy harbour where pleasure cruisers arrive and depart taking visitors up and down the lake.

The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across and down the lake. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside.

There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole `pitch and put' and sailing marinas. Bowness provides a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a wide range of shops, all within easy reach.
