Set in the picturesque village of Kirkoswald in the heart of the tranquil Eden Valley, Raven House stands close to a waterfall on Raven Beck. This traditional red sandstone cottage dates back to the late 19th century and is full of character. Many features have been retained including the original cast iron range with open fire.
Raven House was refurbished in 2006, when a new kitchen was installed, and high quality traditional furnishings further enhance the property. The village has a Post Office/General store and two pubs, one of which is the Crown Inn, renowned locally for its excellent food. There is an open-air swimming pool and supermarket 1 mile away in Lazonby.
The Eden Valley lies between the Lake District and the Pennines and has its own microclimate, which is drier than the surrounding hills. The River Eden is one of England's best salmon rivers, popular also with canoeists and the area is perfect for walking and cycling holidays. Raven house is ideally situated to make the most of a peaceful holiday in rural Cumbria, whether for a short break, a week or longer.
