A traditional Lakeland cottage dating back to the 17th century, Riggs Cottage enjoys a rural location at the northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake in Routenbeck. Benefiting from a delightful cottage-style garden with a stream running through it, Riggs Cottage is an ideal place from which to explore the northern lakes or simply to 'chill out'. For the more energetic, there are many walking and mountain biking opportunities right from the door. The bustling market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth are only a short drive away and the renowned Pheasant Inn and Restaurant is only 1/2 mile away.

Ground Floor

The accommodation, supplied by private spring water, is gas centrally heated and comprises
entrance porch leading to:

Lounge/diner: Large room with beamed ceiling, Lakeland slate floor and Inglenook fireplace housing a log fire, TV, video and hi-fi/CD player.

Study/sun lounge: With a selection of books, maps and puzzles.

Kitchen/breakfast room: With a range cooker offering electric and fan ovens, seperate grill, gas hob and griddle, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer.

Small flight of stairs leading to:

Utility room: With a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Stairs to half landing with:

Bathroom: With bath, separate shower cubicle hand basin and WC.

Bedroom 4/The Bothy: Outside to The Bothy, converted into a double bedroom with fully coordinated bed linen and en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC.

Large cottage style garden with lawn, shrubs and fruit trees with garden furniture and BBQ. Log store. For those rainy days there is an adjacent stone barn with a 3/4 size snooker table and table tennis for the sole use of Riggs Cottage guests. Private parking for 3 cars. Payphone available.
