This delightful 3 bedroom cottage was completely renovated and refurbished in 2012 to provide very comfortable and cosy accommodation for up to 6 people. With lovely wood burning stove to keep you warm in Winter, a small but modern kitchen, fully tiled bathroom, large double bedroom with a king size bed and small 'sitting out' area. Tom's Cottage is situated along a quiet lane in the popular village of Penruddock and only 400 yards from the renowned 'Herdwick Inn'. Penruddock is a most convenient base to explore the Northern Lakes, 15 minutes to Keswick and Ullswater and quickly accessible from the M6.

About the local area
Ullswater is the Lake District’s second largest lake at nine miles long. Located in the eastern side of Cumbria, it bends and twists its way through dramatic mountain scenery on one side and a gently curving shoreline of green fields and woodland on the other.
Boating centres and marinas nestle unobtrusively on the lake edge, perfect for the water sports enthusiasts, or visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery from one of the steamers that have sailed the lake since 1855.
Many of the Lake District’s many walks have their starting point from around Ullswater, including the renowned trek to Helvellyn’s summit via Striding Edge. Or for the less energetic there are many low-level walks through beautiful countryside.
Of note is Glenridding which sits on the south western shore and is surrounded by the fells with wonderful scenic views. Pooley Bridge on the northern shore, with its 16th Century Bridge, Lakeland greystone houses and quaint teashops and Patterdale just to the south of Ullswater, cradled by mountains.
