Oakvale is situated in Braithwaite village, next to a small hotel, with restaurant and public bar. There are 2 more pubs and a restaurant within 400 metres, as well as a popular village store. Explore the Northern Fells with great walking, mountain biking in the forest, sailing on the lake as well as the Go Ape and visitor centre at Whinlatter, the bustling market town of Keswick, with its superb selection of shops, attractions and Lake Derwentwater all within easy reach. Combine this with the magnificent surroundings of Lakes and mountains and here you have found the ideal location for your stay.
Oak leaf, although the smaller of the two, 1 bedroomed properties, provides an ideal base for a couple to get away and relax. Recently refurbished to the highest standard with lovely fell views from the bedroom. There is a small patio with table and chairs.

Thornthwaite and Braithwaite are situated in between Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater in the Northern Lakes. These peaceful Lakeland villages are ideally located, with many local places of interest right on the doorstep.

Whinlatter Forest Park is adjacent and is England's only true Mountain Forest. From May to September visitors can see wild Bassenthwaite Ospreys raise their young, either at the lake or via video link to the Forest Park Visitor Centre. The park has miles of footpaths and cycle ways and provides a habitat for a wide range of wild life. They also have many organised activities and events throughout the year.

Both villages are within easy reach of all the essential amenities and Keswick is only 2 or 3 miles away. Braithwaite has a village shop and two excellent pubs both serving bar meals.
