This traditional Lakeland stone terraced cottage enjoys stunning fell views from all rooms and is situated in an elevated position on the edge of Threlkeld village. Meghan Cottage is ideally placed for your outdoor holiday, with walks directly onto the fells, including Blencathra and Skiddaw. There are two good pubs in the village, each serving food and real ale. Threlkeld is five minutes drive to the bustling town of Keswick, which can also be reached on foot along the old railway line.

About the local area

The village of Threlkeld dates back more than 800 years and the church in the village was built in 1578! There are two good pubs The Horse and Farrier and the Salutation Inn, a restaurant and a small newsagents which serve the village with the market town of Keswick just three miles away. This market town gained its original charter in 1276 and now forms the tub of the Northern Lake District. There are two large parks, specialists gift shops, a leisure pool, golf course and numerous tourist attractions as well as the beautiful Derwentwater just a stone’s throw away.
