The location is perfect, situated on the lower slopes of Blencathra, one of the highest and most imposing fells in The Lake District National Park. The backdrop to Grajo Cottage is simply stunning and the changing colours of the seasons mean you won’t tire of the views from this Lakeland hideaway. Sleeping up to six guests in two double bedrooms and a twin room, the cottage is excellent for multiple couples and families alike. Because of the configuration, it is ideal for larger families to come and enjoy a relaxing Lake District holiday in the heart of this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cottage is well-equipped and even has a private, south-facing patio area with garden furniture opposite the front door. This can either be accessed via eight steps or via a ramp and offers a great place to sit out and soak up the sun throughout the day. The ground floor features a comfortable living room as well as an open plan kitchen/dining room. Upstairs you’ll find the bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Doddick Farm Cottages are situated just off the A66, between Threlkeld and Scales, two small villages on the main route between Penrith and Keswick which offer a couple of local pubs with great food and cask ales. Keswick Golf Club is less than a mile away if you fancy bringing your golf clubs. Just 5 miles away you’ll reach the popular market town of Keswick and all its delights, including great shopping experiences, themed bars and excellent restaurants catering for all tastes. There are plenty of fun things to do including Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world and Puzzling Place, a hands on attraction with mind-boggling optical illusions. For a bit of culture, why not visit Theatre By The Lake offering award-winning drama and arts as well as a delightful café and lakeside location. Speaking of lakes, you are just 7 miles from Derwent Water and 8 miles from Thirlmere, two of the largest lakes and can boast some of the most stunning scenery around these parts. About the local area

Threlkeld and St. Johns in the Vale are just to the east of Keswick in the Northern Lakes. The steep sided Blencathra looms over Threlkeld village, a popular starting point for walking the mountain; three ridges lead to the summit from the village. St. Johns in the Vale, as the name suggests is set in a peaceful valley surrounded by some of England's highest mountains.

Threlkeld's history reaches back more than 800 years; the Romans were here from the 3rd to the 8th century, followed later by the Norse. In the village the church dates back to 1578 and there are two pubs that first opened their doors in 1688.

St. Johns in the Vale is in one of the most stunning valleys in the Northern Lake District. Though only a few miles outside Keswick, the area is tranquil and unspoilt with great views of Blencathra and the Helvellyn range.

There are many places of interest within easy reach; beautiful Ullswater to the east, the lively market town of Keswick and Derwentwater to the West and Thirlmere to the south, with forest walks and fishing.
