Description

This delightful mid-terraced barn conversion is beautifully presented throughout and enjoys a peaceful location in this small country village in the Cladbeck Fells.
Attention to detail is evident from the minute you walk in the door, from the spacious living room with its beautiful décor and wood burner, to the beds, en-suite shower room and family bathroom. Outside there is a lovely walled garden – a real sun trap. A real home from home to explore the northern Lakes and situated only 13 miles from Keswick in the beautiful Lake District National Park. Bramble Hare Cottage gives you the best of both worlds; the tranquillity of a typical Cumbrian village with the quieter northern fells on your doorstep, yet within a short drive of both Keswick and Cockermouth and all the attractions of the Lake District. Dumfries and Galloway, The Scottish Borders and Yorkshire Dales are all within touring distance as is the city of Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

About the local area

Bassenthwaite Lake and village of the same name is situated just north west of Keswick in the Northern Lakes. The magnificent Skiddaw (931m) can be seen rising to the east and Grisedale Pike (790m) to the south west.

Paths leading from Bassenthwaite village connect to circular walks in the area and holidaymakers are able to go fishing and sailing on the lake. From May to September look out for the wild Bassenthwaite Lake Ospreys raising their young chicks or watch the video link from Whinlatter Forest Visitor's Centre. Try a visit to the historic 17th century manor house, Mirehouse, which is close by on the eastern shore of the lake and has some lovely garden walks (Open April - October) or travel a few miles west to market town of Cockermouth or just a little further to Maryport on the coast.

This area offers the ideal base for exploring nearby Keswick; a charming Northern Lakes market town of great character and is well placed for touring the untouched northern and western lakes.
