Starting at Grasmere, you can take a wonderful nine mile walk up on to the fells between Grasmere and Great Langdale; this is a great part of the country to walk in. The route starts with a gradual climb up Silver How with the amazing views over the lakes of Grasmere and Rydal Water. Once the top of Silver How is reached a ridge walk weaves along up to Blea Rigg, once there you can experience fantastic views of the Langdale Pikes overshadowing Stickle Tarn.

Descending the fell back down to Grasmere, you walk via Belles Know and two tarns known as Easedale and Codale. You then visit Tarn Crag and Greathead Crag en-route before returning to Grasmere.
