Ullswater is the second largest lake in Cumbria and is surrounded by the most varied of landscapes with the high fells of Helvellyn range in the west to the rural views around Pooley Bridge in the east, with woodland and dry stone walls inbetween. The lake has some excellent opportunities for anglers with perch, pike, and brown trout all present. The best time to fish is from March to late June but whenever you decide to visit there is guaranteed to be a quiet spot to fish.
