Bassenthwaite Lake is four miles long and lies at the foot of the steep slopes of Skiddaw. The lake is rich in biodiversity making it one of the most important habitats in the Lakes. It is a haven for flora and fauna with a large fishing ground and hundreds of birds including the osprey. Fishing here is a delight and with season and day tickets available from the tourist information centre in Keswick it's an ideal place to catch your dinner!
