A day out at Tullie House in Carlisle is a great day out and is suitable for all ages. This Grade I listed building with a contemporary extension is full of lots of history, art and different exhibitions about the amazing region of the county it is situated in. Displayed in an interactive and exciting way, you can experience the different collections whilst doing a journey through the ages. In particular, this is the perfect place to go back in time and see the history of Hadrian's Wall.

Children are guaranteed to enjoy this fun day out with interactive displays and games, such as `Climb the life-sized Hadrian's Wall', `Fire a roman weapon' and `Visit the badgers set!'

Many different events are held throughout the year, from Adult workshops and themed alternative film evenings to family friendly Sundays. Also with a schedule of changing exhibitions throughout the year, there is always something new to see. The exhibitions which are inspired by the collections in the Old Jacobean building are displayed in the Special exhibitions gallery upstairs with the contemporary exhibitions taking over the purpose built modern Art Gallery downstairs in the newer extension.

History and Art aren't the only aspects of the attraction. Many exhibitions are about the nature of the area with displays and information on the surrounding landscape and how it has evolved through time, as well as displays on the diverse wildlife found in Cumbria.

With an award-winning restaurant, a gift shop and a herb garden, this attraction is full of all you need for a great day out.
