Just a short stroll away from the village of Grasmere, you willfind Grasmere Lake which is one of the smaller lakes in the Lake District measuringone mile in length and half a mile in width. Here you can take a relaxing leisurely walk around the perimeter of just overthree miles. A small island can be seen in the lake which was once a popular picnicing spot for William Wordsworth when he lived in the village many years ago.
