The original `Gondola', a rebuilt Victorian steam yacht, was first launched in 1859 and now completely rebuilt by the National Trust, gives passengers the chance to sail in sumptuous, upholster saloons! This is the perfect way to view Coniston's spectacular scenery. Sail to Monk Coniston Jetty at the north of the lake, then walk through the Monk Coniston garden on to Tarn Hows. For a grand Victorian day out, disembark at Brantwood House! Locally produced food can be found at Bluebird Cafe on Coniston Pier. Events go on throughout the year including guided walks and cruises. Dogs are allowed on board (outside only). Tel: 01539 441288
