Pricing Your Holiday
Our prices are shown weekly per property NOT per person. This delivers incredible value when calculated on a per person basis! Average rates are around £15 per person per night based on maximum occupancy.

Importantly, there are NO booking fees and all bed linen, fuel, gas and electric are included in the price. (A very small number of cottages charge for heating).

The only extras chargeable per week and part week are £25 per person extra person supplement (for example for a property sleeping 4/6, the additional 2 people would be charged at £25 each on the holiday price).

Each property has a price band (A – P) showing a list of prices which vary depending on the date of your holiday. A small number of cottages are priced individually.

2 Person Discounts – Save 20%!
Many of our properties offer a discount of 20% off the full week price for couples and couples with pre-school age children. The individual cottage details will show if this discount is available for the cottage you are looking at. This significant saving applies from November to April inclusive but excludes October half term, Christmas, New Year, February Half Term and Easter. It does not apply to short breaks, late availability, special offers or to parties with more than 2 adults.

Cumbrian Cottages strives to provide exceptional value to those holidaymakers who decide to book at the last minute. We discount our prices by a minimum of 15% every week for the following 3 week’s occupancy. Keep an eye on the late bargains page for fantastic deals. We also offer last minute short breaks deals calculated as a % of the discounted weekly price.

Changeover Days, Arrivals, Key Collection & Departure
For weekly bookings, most properties changeover on a Saturday, some are Friday changeovers. This is indicated in the cottage details.

When you book your holiday, we will provide directions and key collection instructions with your holiday confirmation.

Unless otherwise stated in your holiday confirmation, you are welcome to arrive at your property from 3.00pm on the start day and must vacate by 10.00am on the day of departure.

You are responsible for everyday cleaning and must leave the property clean and tidy.

Terms of Payment

Confirming your Booking
A deposit of £60 per bedroom per week is required to confirm your booking. If however you are booking within 8 weeks of your holiday, payment must be made in full when confirming your holiday. Please note your holiday is not confirmed until you have received either an email or written confirmation from Cumbrian Cottages and we reserve the right to refuse any booking before we have issued the written holiday confirmation form.

Your booking is made as a consumer and you agree neither the company or owner will accept liability for expenses, costs, losses, claims or other sums that relate to any business however so suffered or incurred by you. You must be over 18 years of age at the time of making your booking.

As soon as you receive the holiday confirmation form, you must check it carefully. Any errors must be reported to us immediately.

Balance Payment
The balance of your holiday is due at least 8 weeks prior to holiday commencement. This can be paid online or by forwarding a cheque or telephoning your credit/debit card details to our Carlisle office on 01228 599960. Non Payment of the final balance when it becomes due will constitute cancellation of the holiday and forfeiture of the deposit payment.

Credit Card Payments
To recover the credit card company charges levied on the company, we levy a 3% surcharge and this will be added to any credit card payment. There is no charge for switch or debit card.

Property, Equipment & Facilities
Every one of our cottages is equipped to the high standards you would expect to find in a quality home. Each property description describes the equipment and facilities that are provided in each room and whether the cost of fuel is included in the price. Some properties may have a payphone, parking and outdoor furniture. All provide bed linen but only some provide towels. Towels can be hired from our offices at the cost of £4 per set. These must be booked in advance and there is a refundable deposit of £10 for the hire, refunded when returned.

Travelling with Pets
Pets are accepted only at properties which are pet friendly, this is clearly stated against the individual brochure description and are charged at £15 per pet per week/part week. Pets are accepted on the understanding that no sign of the pet is evident, in the house or garden at the time of departure. Pets are not allowed in the bedrooms or to be left alone in the property. We will inform you of any damages made by the pet and any additional charges incurred within 14 days of your return from holiday. If you book a cottage that is not pet friendly and are asked to leave no compensation/refund will be offered.

Travelling with Children
Some of our properties have a highchair available to hire, please check the individual website description. A charge of £5 per week/part week is made for the hire of a highchair. Highchairs can be hired from our offices, these must be booked in advance and collected and returned to our offices. There will be a refundable deposit of £10 for the hire of our highchairs payable in cash on collection and refunded when returned.
