Everything You Need To Know
Our prices are shown weekly per property NOT per person. This means incredible value when calculated on a per person basis!! Average rates are around £15 per person per night for maximum occupancy.
Importantly, there are NO booking fees and all bed linen, fuel, gas and electric are included in the price.
The only extras chargeable per week and part week are Pets £15, Cot hire £10, £5 highchair hire and £25 per person extra person supplements (for example a property sleeping 4/6 , the additional 2 people would be charged at £25 each on the holiday price).
Each property has a price band ( A-P ) corresponding to a list of prices which vary depending on the date of your holiday. A small number of cottages are priced individually.
Because we manage the majority of our cottages, we can take a very flexible approach to providing short break accommodation.
Please refer to the ‘short breaks’ section shown on the left hand navigation bar of our home page, where all the rules relating to booking a short break are clearly explained.
Prices for short breaks are based on a % of the full weekly price depending on the number of nights required.
3 nights 70% of the full rate, 4 nights 80%, 5 nights 90%, 6 nights 95%.

2 Person Discounts – Save 20 % !!
Many of our cottages offer a discount of 20% off the full weekly price for couples and couples with pre school age children. Details about whether the discount is available can be found in the full cottage details.
This significant saving applies from November to April inclusive but excludes Christmas, New Year, February half term and easter. It does not apply to short breaks, late availability, special offers or to parties with more than 2 adults.

Cumbrian Cottages strives to provide exceptional value to those holidaymakers who decide to book at the last minute. We discount our prices by a minimum of 15% every week for the following weeks occupancy. Keep an eye on the late bargains page for fantastic deals.

Changeover Days, Arrivals, Key Collection & Departure
For weekly bookings, most properties changeover on a Saturday, some are Friday changeovers. This is indicated in the cottage details.
When you book your holiday, we will provide directions and key collection instructions with your holiday confirmation.
Unless otherwise stated in your holiday confirmation, you are welcome to arrive at your property from 3.00pm on the start date and must vacate by 10.00am on the day of departure.
You are responsible for everyday cleaning and must the leave the property clean and tidy.
Property, Equipment & Facilities
Every cottage is fully inspected each year and graded by VisitBritain ( formerly the English Tourist Council). We do not accept any cottage unless it meets a minimum 3 star standard.
Our property descriptions describe the equipment and facilities that are provided. Only some provide towels but these can be hired from our offices at £4 per set ( 1 bath and 1 hand towel ) these must be booked in advance, collected and returned to our offices. A refundable charge of £10 payable in cash will be charged on collection and refunded on return.
Many of our cottages accept pets. There is a £15 charge per week/part week for each pet.
Pets are accepted on the basis that no sign of the pet is evident on departure, in the house or garden. Pets are not allowed into the bedrooms or to be left alone in the house. Any damage or extra cleaning costs will be charged for within 14 days of your departure.
Travel cots and highchairs are available for hire and need to be booked in advance. Travel cot hire is £10 per week/part week and highchairs can be hired for £5 per week/part week. These hire costs are per item and a refundable deposit of £10 will be required for each item hired. Please note that cot linen is not included.
Cumbrian Cottages Maintenance Department
Unique to Cumbrian Cottages, we employ a team of 4 full time maintenance staff to look after all our cottages, we are always on hand to sort out any issues you have whilst on holiday. We operate an out of hours emergency call service too just in case!

We employ over 30 full time staff including our housekeepers and maintenance teams ensuring all our cottages are well presented for your holiday. Our staff are on hand to help you have a superb holiday, good advice, guide books and maps etc are all available.
