The village of Lazonby is pleasantly placed on the banks of the River Eden between the Lake District and Northumberland National Parks. Over that river arcs one of the loveliest spots in Lazonby: the 250-year-old red sandstone Eden Bridge, which connects the village to Kirkoswald, the village with which it shares a rail station. It is not far from the town of Penrith, the city of Carlisle and the national landmark of Hadrian's Wall, so you can get a real taste of the whole area if you fancy basing yourself in one of our Lazonby cottages. The popular village hall here plays host to community events, concerts and plays from the surrounding areas, giving tourists a chance to mingle with the warm and welcoming locals. The spot is popular with fishermen, too, since the River Eden is filled with lively salmon, but, if fishing isn't your thing, then the heated outdoor swimming pool - open during the summer months - lets you have a dip for yourself. The Eden Valley is one of the most attractive parts of the Lake District and this is plain to see all year round. Cumbrian cottages give you the chance to come and see it for yourself in the central village of Lazonby, which acts as the perfect platform from which to launch your Lakeland adventure.
