White Moss is one of our 5 historic buildings designed by Augustus (AWN) Pugin to let on The Terrace in Windermere. The house sleeps up to 12 in 5 bedrooms and is a slightly different offering from our other houses on The Terrace. Downstairs there’s a sumptuous lounge with seating for 15 people, the room has a wood burning stove and large flat screen TV. The dining room is quite regal, with large table seating 11. The room also has a wood burning stove. The kitchen is hand made solid pine, with 2 oven Aga and all the usual appliances. Opposite the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and dryer, plus extra fridge and freezer space. It’s a great space for muddy boots and wet dogs. Finally there’s a down stairs toilet. On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a king size 4 poster. Bedroom 2 is a cosy single. Bedroom 3 is a king size. Bedroom 4 is a twin with an extra day-bed. There is a shower room with toilet and sink and a bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Located on the second floor bedroom 5 is has 4 single beds also on this floor is a statement bathroom with free standing bath, toilet and sink. White Moss is a great house for up to 11 people close to the heart of Windermere. Four of the houses sleep 14 and the other 11, giving a maximum capacity of around 66 guests. The Terrace is situated in private grounds only moments away from all of the shops, bars and restaurants of Windermere village. Each house has its own special feature, Number One has a bar/party room, Alice Howe has a pool table, Boston House has a 14 seat cinema and Bannerrigg has an eight seat hot tub in its own building in the garden There is off road parking for around 25 cars. The rear of The Terrace looks onto Orrest Head one of the finest short walks in the Lake District. Whether you are looking to take one house or all five, The Terrace is a very special venue for your break.
Lake Windermere is perhaps the best know area in the Lake District and Windermere village itself is about 1km from the lake. The lake stretches from Waterhead, near Ambleside, to Lakeside at its narrow southern end, over 10 miles in length and the largest lake in England. Wooded slopes dotted with cottages and houses line its shores, while the water itself is usually busy with ferries and yachts.
Windermere is not as busy as it’s near neighbour, Bowness-on-Windermere, but has its own charms and attractions. It has excellent amenities and a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars all within easy reach. The village has good public transport links with its own train station and bus routes.

A cot and high chair is available. There is now an extra day-bed in bedroom 4 meaning that the property can sleep 12 people.
Outside: Private rear courtyard area with patio furniture and BBQ. Hot tub (private). Parking for 4 cars.
