Ground Floor accommodation in the perfect location sitting on an elevated site between Windermere and the popular villiage of Staveley, Little Burbank is the perfect bolthole for couples to escape and unwind and enjoy some well deserved time together. Just a two mile drive from Windermere the location is ideal for exploring the more popular Lakeland towns and villages. The award winning Watermill Pub and micro brewery is just a short walk from the property, serving a selection of fine ales and great food as well as holding a very successful beer festival once a year. All on the ground floor with solid wood flooring, Little Burbank has been creatively designed to offer maximum space and comfort for guests. The double bedroom with en-suite wet room and dressing area is a light, bright space whilst the open plan living area has picture windows to the front and side to take in distance views across Ings to the fields beyond. Along with enjoying the well equipped, comfortable accommodation, guests are certain to appreciate the opportunity to wander up the garden and collect their morning eggs courtesy of the resident hens which have their own run on the gardens upper levels. Enjoying the view from the upper level are the owners pet goats and guests are welcome to pop up and say hello! Cyclists are more than welcome to leave their bikes in the owner’s greenhouse for overnight shelter.

About the local area

Lake Windermere is perhaps the best know area in the Lake District and Windermere village itself is about 1km from the lake. The lake stretches from Waterhead, near Ambleside, to Lakeside at its narrow southern end, over 10 miles in length and the largest lake in England. Wooded slopes dotted with cottages and houses line its shores, while the water itself is usually busy with ferries and yachts.

Windermere is not as busy as it's near neighbour, Bowness-on-Windermere, but has its own charms and attractions. It has excellent amenities and a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars all within easy reach. The village has good public transport links with its own train station and bus routes.

Troutbeck Bridge lies to the north in between Windermere and Ambleside; handy for both but located just off the beaten track. Troutbeck Bridge has its own local amenities including a public swimming pool and a local pub. Between Troutbeck Bridge and the Low Wood Hotel lies Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre. This has an adventure playground, exhibitions, cafe, shop and extensive grounds down to the lake and jetty.

Situated between Kendal and Windermere is the lovely village of Staveley which is often referred to as the Gateway to the Lakes. It mainly comprises of grey slate buildings which are nestled between the Rivers Kent and Gowan. It is ideally placed for exploring the rest of the Lake District and is only a few minutes away from the beautiful Kentmere valley.
