Simply fabulous! This beautifully presented timber lodge is one of just a handful awarded a ‘platinum’ rating by the popular White Cross Bay holiday park. No detail has been overlooked and the high standard of comfort and detail is a credit to the owners. White Cross Bay sits in Troutbeck Bridge, on the edge of Lake Windermere. The shore with picnic area, jetty and marina is just a few minutes walk from the lodge. along with a sports area, handy shop, pub and restaurant. The superb location makes it tempting not to wander too far, and the delightful accommodation is enhanced by a decking area offering space to sit and relax.

For those keen to explore this beautiful area, the location offers a great base, with walks on your doorstep and easy access to Bowness on Windermere village with its steamboat marina offering lake cruises, Beatrix Potter museum, mix of pretty shops, cafes and restaurants. Heading north you are a short drive from the namesake village of Ambleside itself, with its Lakeland charm and array of facilities to enjoy. A fabulous lodge in an ideal setting.

The property is all on the ground floor with seven steps to the entrance, has LPG heating and comprises:

Lounge area: With electric fire, 32" Freeview TV with Sky Sports channels 1 & 2 and Family packages, DVD, CD/radio and doors to the decked terrace.

Kitchen area: With gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
Bedroom 1: With double bed, TV, DVD and en-suite with shower, WC and heated towel rail.

About the local area

Lake Windermere is perhaps the best know area in the Lake District and Windermere village itself is about 1km from the lake. The lake stretches from Waterhead, near Ambleside, to Lakeside at its narrow southern end, over 10 miles in length and the largest lake in England. Wooded slopes dotted with cottages and houses line its shores, while the water itself is usually busy with ferries and yachts.

Windermere is not as busy as it's near neighbour, Bowness-on-Windermere, but has its own charms and attractions. It has excellent amenities and a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars all within easy reach. The village has good public transport links with its own train station and bus routes.

Troutbeck Bridge lies to the north in between Windermere and Ambleside; handy for both but located just off the beaten track. Troutbeck Bridge has its own local amenities including a public swimming pool and a local pub. Between Troutbeck Bridge and the Low Wood Hotel lies Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre. This has an adventure playground, exhibitions, cafe, shop and extensive grounds down to the lake and jetty.

Situated between Kendal and Windermere is the lovely village of Staveley which is often referred to as the Gateway to the Lakes. It mainly comprises of grey slate buildings which are nestled between the Rivers Kent and Gowan. It is ideally placed for exploring the rest of the Lake District and is only a few minutes away from the beautiful Kentmere valley.
