Once Sedbergh’s old railway station, the property has been converted into two luxurious semi-detached holiday homes – Westby House (ref UK2430) and Old Station Cottage (UK2431), both of which retain internal original features.
Westby House forms the main part of the old station buildings. This outstanding property still boasts the 60 foot long platform (now a patio), and sits in 3 acres of private gardens at the end of a 150-yard drive, and cannot be seen from the road. South west facing, the gardens have the sun all day and are perfect for watching the bright stars in the evenings. Westby House is beautifully furnished with its own entrance and 24 hour access via key safe.
Sedbergh station used to transport both passengers and livestock on the old Low Gill to Ingleton line. It was closed in 1965 after the rail nationalisation and it became the family home of the last station master until it was bought by its present owners.
Within easy reach of the M6 motorway, you are not far from the Lake District National Park, making it the perfect holiday getaway for exploring the hidden treasures of the Lakes and Dales, and is the ideal base for walkers, cyclists and motorists.
