Description

Offering fabulous, far-reaching views over the popular market town of Kendal and the parish church to the fells of Whinfell and Benson Knott, Beech Hill offers stylish and contemporary accommodation in a prime, elevated location. A traditional Victorian mid-terraced property, it offers guests the benefit of Kendal itself on the doorstep, with easy access to Windermere and the South Lakes, as well as the Western Dales, including the book town of Sedbergh. Popular local towns and villages including Kirkby Lonsdale and Staveley are all just a short drive away. Well proportioned, the property allows guests generous, well presented living space and the bonus of two delightful terraces - one to the front, with long views across the fells and town, and a private terraced garden with table and chairs to the rear which is a real sun trap (weather permitting!). Enjoy breakfast al-fresco or relax with a glass of wine after a hard day exploring the area! Spectacular views are enjoyed from all rooms at the front of the property - including the bathroom, which offers the luxury of bathing with the most incredible view! Greatly enjoyed for its wealth of independent retailers, good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants, Kendal is well known for its most famous export, Kendal Mint Cake. Chosen by the conquerors of Everest, walkers will no doubt enjoy its benefits whilst taking advantage of the fabulous walks in the area, whether facing the challenging peaks of The Lakes or strolling the yards and alleyways of the town. About the local area

Situated to the South of the Lake District, and only a short drive from the sea, Kendal is especially well placed to cater for everyone's holiday needs. Kendal is often seen as the Southern gateway to the Lake District, being only around nine miles from Windermere and around 30 miles from Keswick.

The other lakes are all within an hour or two's travelling by car from the town, as are locations for walks and rambles, both gentle and demanding. The town is home to a fine selection of shopping arcades, can boast two castles, two museums, a host of historical buildings and bridges, fine restaurants, a multitude of public houses, and views that would please the most demanding photographer including the nearby ruin of Kendal Castle.

The pleasant Lakeland village of Underbarrow lies to the west of the town of Kendal and sits at the foot of Helsington Barrow, a limestone ridge rising to around 700 feet. Underbarrow stands at the centre of a network of roads linking Kendal to Crosthwaite in the Lyth Valley, Newby Bridge and Ulverston and the village of Crook to Levens making it idea to explore all the surrounding areas with ease.

Further west is the small village of Crosthwaite which is an ideal point from which to explore the Windermere and South Lakes area and, with walks right from the door, it will please keen walkers and hikers.
