Abigail’s View is a superb cottage style apartment, in centre of Grasmere, with lovely river and fell views. It is light and bright with stylish, contemporary furniture, two luxurious bathrooms and a beautiful country kitchen. The location is charming and convenient with the village green to the front and the pretty river Rothay to the rear. A wide choice of fell walks, restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops and galleries are only a short stroll away. Set within Beck Steps, a handsome, slate building, the apartment has been sympathetically renovated to a high standard retaining the original exposed beams, slate walls and feature windows. The spacious master suite, with its wealth of natural light and  views over the village green to the fells beyond, is a delight.

Accommodation details

First floor

An external mahogany staircase leads from the car park at the rear of Beck Steps,to a private entrance for Abigail’s View.  The gas centrally heated accommodation comprises:

Living/Dinning/Kitchen: A bright  open plan room,  full of character and charm with traditional Lakeland slate walls, a full HD digital  TV, DVD player, a supply of maps, books and games and superb  views over the River Rothay to the Fairfield range of fells.  The splendid new oak kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances: dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, electric oven, ceramic hob and microwave.  A few stairs lead to two en-suite bedrooms: 

Bedroom 1:  A light and spacious master bedroom with a king size bed, digital TV, CD player, exposed beams, two  feature windows and wonderful views over the village green to Silver Howe.  The en-suite bathroom has a powerful, rose head  shower over the bath, pedestal wash hand basin and WC.

Bedroom 2: An en suite bedroom with twin beds, feature wooden panelling  and views over the  rooftops to Heron Pike.  The bathroom has a powerful  rose head shower over the bath, pedestal wash hand basin and WC.

Facilities

All gas, electricity, bed linen, hair dryer, high chair and towels are supplied.  A travel cot  is available on request

About the local area

Grasmere is a charming village in the heart of the Lake District National Park, situated in a valley surrounded by the lush green slopes of the Lakeland hills. Lovely old cottages and houses built of the local blue-green slate sit along side the art galleries and shops that line the twisty streets of the village.

Once home to the famous poet William Wordsworth visitors can see his two former homes – Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount and Gardens. At the centre of the village is St. Oswald’s Church which contains the Wordsworth family graves.

A short distance to the west is the village of Chapel Stile at the entrance to the spectacular Langdale Valley with superb scenery all around. Langdale offers a variety of fell and low level walks making it a good base for walkers of all abilities.
