Cartmel Priory

Cartmel Priory is one of the most beautiful churches in the north east. Built more than 800 years ago the church serves as a centre for the local community.

Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway

The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway was originally used to carry passengers from Lakeside to Ulverston and Barrow and then on into Lancashire.

Cartmel Racecourse

Situated in the picturesque village of Cartmel the racecourse has been in operation since the 1850’s. It offers traditional National Hunt Racing to seasoned visitors and novices alike. Tickets can be booked online and events are held throughout the year.

Holker Hall and Gardens
