The famous village of Cartmel is only a short drive away, and you can also visit the Lakeland Car Museum, which is situated just up the road. Alternatively, for a day of excitement, try your luck on some horses at Cartmel Racecourse. Line fishing nearby (River Leven at £10 per day, licence required). Beach 8 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 20 yards.
