Description

Ideally situated for exploring the Lake District and Morecambe Bay, this delightful cottage is perfect for families and couples who enjoy walking, cycling, or simply relaxing in beautiful surroundings. Located in the South Lakeland village of Lindale, this deceptively spacious mid-terraced cottage has been transformed into a truly lovely and welcoming holiday home with all the home comforts one could wish for. Its proximity to the A590 and M6 makes it very accessible from all over the UK. Downstairs is a cosy lounge and separate dining room with a wood burning stove. There is a well-equipped kitchen and separate utility area which also serves as a bicycle store. Upstairs are three comfortable and well-presented bedrooms, and a family bathroom with a deep freestanding bath tub and separate shower cubicle. Outside is a paved garden with plenty of seating and a table for al fresco dining. Whilst the garden is a real sun trap, there is also a sun room which is perfect for when the weather isn’t quite so great. The village has a good pub as well as a local post office and a convenience store which is just across the road from the cottage. A wider range of amenities can be found in the nearby Edwardian seaside town of Grange-over-Sands which is just 2 miles away. Here you will find a good variety of independent shops and cafés, or why not take a stroll along the promenade with views towards Morecambe Bay? Alternatively the charming village of Cartmel, famous for its sticky toffee pudding, race course, and the Michelin starred L’Enclume restaurant is 4 miles away. The popular Lakeland towns of Kendal, Ulverston and Bowness are all 20 minutes away, whereas Windermere, Hawkshead and Coniston are approximately 30 minutes away. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall with its world famous topiary gardens and the National Trust’s Sizergh Castle. Outside of Cumbria, there is Arnside and Silverdale which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Morecambe Bay and the city of Lancaster. Shop 50 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

About the local area

Offering stunning views of the South Lakeland District fells and countryside, Cartmel is easily accessible, with its winding streets, pretty cottages, whitewashed houses and medieval buildings leading to the village square. The village offers visitors many modern surprises in the form of fine quality attractions, shops, and eateries.

Around the village square you will discover a delightful assortment of genuine 16th - 18th century buildings providing, as they have for centuries, friendly inns, well stocked shops and private dwellings. It is also home to Britain's smallest National Hunt racecourse and the National Trust attraction of Cartmel Priory Gatehouse, a historically important building situated in the heart of the village.

Occupying one of the most attractive spots in the area, Grange-over-Sands looks out across the expansive sands of Morecambe Bay, a rich feeding ground for many species of birds that take advantage of the great climate in the area. It is easily accessible from the Lake District (Lake Windermere is only seven miles away) and towns such as Kendal are also just a short drive from here.

There is much to do and see on the Peninsular from golf , horse riding and fishing to hot air ballooning and parachuting! There also a good number of great walks, plus many places of historical interest.
