Lindale is a delightful village in the south Lakes, only two miles from Grange Over Sands which can be reached in five minutes by car or 40 minutes walk for those more energetic of you. Grange was a popular resort of the Victorians and still today retains an historic feel with the lovely promenade fringed by delightful tea rooms and craft shops. Lindale is well placed for exploring all of the Lakes and Furness Peninsula, Windermere Lake being only only 15 minutes drive. The village itself has a local store, well supported village hall and two pubs offering real ale and excellent food.
This pretty, white washed cottage fronted by a traditional lawned garden fringed by colourful borders, sheltering the house from the roadside. Broomhill Cottage really is a property of two halves; the lounge and bedrooms being presented in a traditional cottage style whilst the kitchen and dining area brings a modern twist to what is essentially an 18th Century building.

About the local area

Offering stunning views of the South Lakeland District fells and countryside, Cartmel is easily accessible, with its winding streets, pretty cottages, whitewashed houses and medieval buildings leading to the village square. The village offers visitors many modern surprises in the form of fine quality attractions, shops, and eateries.

Around the village square you will discover a delightful assortment of genuine 16th - 18th century buildings providing, as they have for centuries, friendly inns, well stocked shops and private dwellings. It is also home to Britain’s smallest National Hunt racecourse and the National Trust attraction of Cartmel Priory Gatehouse, a historically important building situated in the heart of the village.

Occupying one of the most attractive spots in the area, Grange-over-Sands looks out across the expansive sands of Morecambe Bay, a rich feeding ground for many species of birds that take advantage of the great climate in the area. It is easily accessible from the Lake District (Lake Windermere is only seven miles away) and towns such as Kendal are also just a short drive from here.

There is much to do and see on the Peninsular from golf , horse riding and fishing to hot air ballooning and parachuting! There also a good number of great walks, plus many places of historical interest.

What our customers say about Broomhill Cottage

S Ramsay -

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous especially the kitchen - we had everything we needed - excellent.

P.R Woodman -

The property far exceeded our expectations very comfortable and traditional as well as bringing the modern feel to the extension (kitchen area) the property also had many unexpected extras which only made staying there easier and often hard to leave. A wonderful property. A wonderful property

David Dyer -

Excellent property. Good for South Lakes attractions and walking in the area. The property is maintained at a high standard and we will certainly book again later in the year.

R Watling -

We really liked the cottage, which was perfect for us being two grandparents with our 6 year old grandson. He thought the cottage was ' awesome'. Only drawback was that my tall husband hit his head several times on a low beam.

D Leggett -

Excellent. Very clean, well equipped, warm and cosy

R Stowell -

We have been renting cottages for many years and I can honestly say this is by far the best equipped we have ever found, both in terms of the quantity and quality of equipment and furnishing. A great place to stay.

J Preston -

A very well kept property with all the home comforts you could wish for, also a very convenient location.

K Wilson -

M Stafford -

Very comfortable

Excellent accomodation, nothing to complain about

Sj Harrower -

We were very impressed with the high standards of decor and furnishing throughout the property, especially the new kitchen and bathroom. A lovely combination of functionality and comfort. The place felt very welcoming and cared-for, and the garden was charming. But it was probably the little touches that impressed me most - a full set of Wainwright books, annotated by their owner; some local OS maps; enough toilet rolls to last the week; a supply of dishwasher tablets, cleaning stuff, bin bags, sandwich bags and other such insignificant yet useful items; bits and pieces of food and basics like seasoning and cooking oil etc. I think I was more impressed with Broomhill Cottage and the thought that had gone into making it a pleasant holiday home than I have been with any other cottage I've stayed in in the UK, and I've stayed in a lot. Do please pass my thanks on to the owner (or whoever supplies all the little touches)..

Tom Malone -

The owner has to be complimented as the cottage has everything and then some, and that kitchen absolutely brilliant, we wanted for nothing. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay we were over the moon with the everything and we will be back in the near future.

C.D. Purdy -

J Boddy -
