Glimpses of Windermere can be had from the property and grounds, more so in the winter months, the famous Windermere Steamers departing from Bowness Bay, a level walk from the property offers guests the opportunity to hop across to Ambleside and back, perhaps for a meal at Waterhead, so no need to nominate a driver for the day.
Waterside Park has been thoughtfully planned and prepared for self catering to ensure your every comfort. The neutral shades throughout are complimented by the occasional splash of colour by way of art and soft furnishings whilst the sumptuous sofas and handpicked mattresses will ensure a good night’s rest leaving you to wake refreshed for yet another day of sightseeing around England’s Largest Lake. Waterside Park also has the added advantage of a private balcony with an outlook over the shared grounds, perfect for either breakfast or aperitifs before dinner.

About the local area

Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Situated midway down Lake Windermere, a long promenade skirts the lake with views over a busy harbour where pleasure cruisers arrive and depart taking visitors up and down the lake.

The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across and down the lake. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside.

There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole `pitch and put' and sailing marinas. Bowness provides a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a wide range of shops, all within easy reach.
