Oakghyll is a comfortable, spacious property, perfect for the larger party, set midway between Bowness and Windermere, an ideal location for exploring all that this popular area has to offer. A superb selection of shops, restaurants and attractions are available within minutes walk from the property including the famous Windermere Steamers and Steam Boat Museum as well as the every popular Beatrix Potter exhibition.

Oakghyll is a spacious house and is very comfortably furnished. The accommodation is particularly flexible for a larger party with the bedrooms set out over two floors. The lounge is ideal for seating all of your party in front of the wall mounted TV so everyone can watch your chosen film or TV programme and for those who want to escape such facilities, the small sun room, just off the lounge, overlooks a long, colourful terrace and is an ideal place to enjoy some quiet time.

About the local area

Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Situated midway down Lake Windermere, a long promenade skirts the lake with views over a busy harbour where pleasure cruisers arrive and depart taking visitors up and down the lake.

The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across and down the lake. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside.

There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole `pitch and put' and sailing marinas. Bowness provides a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a wide range of shops, all within easy reach.
