Tucked away up a quiet side road from the main thoroughfare of Bowness and only two minutes walk into this popular holiday resort, Holborn House is also located  just a stones throw away from Biskey Howe with its spectacular views of Lake Windermere and surrounding fells and is an ideal spot for our holidaymakers. Handy for shops, restaurants and local attractions, all you need is within easy walking distance and, with private, off road parking, there is little need to use your car. Furnished in typical cottage style, Holborn House has all the essential items for your comfort and convenience and the two en-suite bathrooms are an added bonus, particularly for two couples wishing to holiday together. The décor is light and airy with pretty, co-ordinating fabrics and linens.

About the local area

Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Situated midway down Lake Windermere, a long promenade skirts the lake with views over a busy harbour where pleasure cruisers arrive and depart taking visitors up and down the lake.

The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across and down the lake. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside.

There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole `pitch and put' and sailing marinas. Bowness provides a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a wide range of shops, all within easy reach.
