A hidden gem! Meandering down the cobbles of Ash St with its wonderful mix of pavement cafes, shops and restaurants, you might not immediately notice the discreet sign for ’Ginnel’ - local dialect meaning passageway. Tucked away here is the delightful Beega Apartment, sitting on the first floor of one of the oldest buildings in Bowness, a prime location above one of Bowness’ popular streets.
A cared for apartment, Beega is presented to a very good standard and offers comfortable and attractive accommodation right in the middle of it all. From the window seat you can simply sit and watch the world go by, or pop downstairs and you are spoilt for choice with superb eateries literally on your doorstep.
A short stroll from the main street and The Lake, you can explore the attractions of Bowness on foot, with the town of Windermere a little further up the hill. A car parking permit is provided so you really can forget about it, though if tempted to head further afield you are in a prime spot to head South to Newby Bridge or North to Ambleside and beyond.

About the local area

Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Situated midway down Lake Windermere, a long promenade skirts the lake with views over a busy harbour where pleasure cruisers arrive and depart taking visitors up and down the lake.

The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across and down the lake. A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside.

There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole `pitch and put' and sailing marinas. Bowness provides a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a wide range of shops, all within easy reach.
