Long Mynd is part of The Falls, Stockghyll, an area of pretty woodland and tumbling waterfalls cascading from Red Screes above to Ambleside Village and the lake below. The Falls are set in one and a half acres of grounds and landscaping on the former site of the old Bobbin Mill. The original buildings have been converted to luxury cottages and apartments with the addition of new accommodation being built in the same slate and stone to blend sympathetically into the area. The Falls are a superb base for local, country and woodland walks with Ambleside Village a short stroll away and Langdale Pike within 4 miles. Offering a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, Ambleside still retains its unique village atmosphere in the heart of the Lake District. Long Mynd is a spacious and luxurious, privately owned apartment.

Ground floor

With a pleasant aspect overlooking Stockghyll, most of the accommodation is on the ground floor and comprises:

Entrance Hall.

Lounge/dining room: Attractive and well laid out room with colour TV, video, CD stereo and having French doors leading onto the patio, furnished with garden furniture and with BBQ available.

Kitchen: Well equipped, fully fitted kitchen with electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave.

Bedroom 1: Large master double bedroom, easily able to accommodate a cot and has a spacious en-suite shower room with power shower.

Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom.

Bathroom: With electric shower over bath, hand basin, bidet and WC.

First floor

From the inner hallway, a short flight of stairs leads to:

About the local area

Located right in the centre of the Lake District at the head of Lake Windermere, Ambleside is surrounded by beautiful scenery. This bustling, busy market town offers visitors numerous shops, cosy pubs and plenty of places to eat out.

Ambleside has easy access to the surrounding fells and mountains and is an excellent base from which to tour the Lake District. A short walk from the town centre is Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70ft waterfall and to the southeast is Jenkins Crag (730ft), with its great views of Ambleside and the surrounding hills. Well worth a visit is Stagshaw Garden, a woodland garden with lovely floral displays set on a steep hillside overlooking Lake Windermere. From the garden walks lead through Skelghyll Woods to the fells beyond.

For the less energetic, there are strolls along the shore of Lake Windermere, boat trips down the lake and back, or maybe just potter around the many outdoor shops, craft shops and galleries before a good pub lunch.
